1980-81 Summary
  1980-81 was a season for many firsts in Mariners history.  The team finished the regular season with an 18-0 record, capturing their first ever Parkland Conference-Western Division Championship.  This would also be the first and only season that a Mariners team went undefeated in the regular season.  The Mariners then defeated West Milwaukee (44-24) and Kewaskum (44-34) to earn their second ever regional championship.  Then, after defeating Laconia (44-43) and Beloit Turner (47-29), the Mariners got their first seciontal championship and the high school's first trip to play in the WIAA Division B state tournament semi-finals, as well their first and only loss of the season in the UW Fieldhouse against the Algoma Wolves. 
   This memorable 1981 squad consisted of Kim Brauner, Carol Matusinec, Lynn Dusold, Sharon Romel, Kelley Derrick, Amy Simonsen, Karen Thiel, Dorothy Fischer, Karen Bronstad, Jodi Longstaff, Judi DeGroot, Debbie Narloch (quit mid-way into the season), and Juli Ziemer.
