1978-79 Summary
  The 1978-79 Mariners couldn't match their overwhelming success of two previous years in Coach Polasek's first coaching season.  The Mariners finished the season with a 4-12 conference record, sweeping Greenfield High School 47-36 and 40-29.
   Sharon Romel led St. Francis with 216 points, grabbed 120 rebounds and Terry Kender led the team with 131 rebounds, and also contributed 166 points.  St. Francis also made and attempted the most free throws in school history at 144-292.
   Playing for the Mariners were Terry Kender, Sharon Romel, Sue Leannais, Sue Laskowski, Jenny Diven,
Cindy Susedik, Debbie Strozenski, Lisa Kloppenburg, Mary Staseski, Janet Griffin, Ulla Koskinen,
Kathy O'Leary, Jill Szymkowski, and Chris Crivello.
