                        Words on Granny's Death
Granny performed great works while she was on this earth.  She was always giving and loving.  She always found time for other people, and if she could not find the time, she would make time.  She was probably the most selfless person that I have ever known.  Surely a woman who was so loving, caring, and giving is in heaven?
Yes, I believe that I will see Granny on the Last Day in heaven, but it is not because of these great works that she resides in heaven.  In James 2:18, James says, "Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works."  Later in verse 20, James says that "faith without works is dead."  Granny performed many great works while she was here on this earth, but these works profitted her nothing for her salvation.  Granny was a sinner just like you and I.  It was her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior, which God gave to her at baptism, that gave her the guarantee of salvation.  Her's was a living faith.  The good works Granny did here on earth were the fruits of this faith.  They are evidence of her faith.  It is not good works that constitute our faith, but faith consitutes our good works. For "without faith it is impossible to please God" (Hebrews 11:6).
Granny was always eager to share her faith in Jesus Christ as Savior to others.  Her light shone brightly in this dark world.  Her life was her faith.  I am most certain that Granny, who was so eager to witness about Jesus in life, would have wanted her death not to be a great eulogy of her life, but she would have wanted her death to be another opportunity to witness to others the great eulogy of Christ's life and what it means for them.  Therefore the following Scripture passages follow:

Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Romans 5:8  "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 3:27,28  "Where is boasting then?  It is excluded.  By what law?  Of works?  No, but by the law of faith.  Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law."
Revelation 2:10b "Be faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life."
John 11:25, 26 "Jesus said to her, 'I am the ressurection and the life.  He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.  And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.  Do you believe this?"
Lallah Lindler Drafts did!  Her life was her faith, and now her faith has become her life!
                    Granny's Poem

               Your days are ending.
               Our time is almost up.
               It's so hard to do,
But it's almost time to give you up.

I hope you will see me marry.
I pray that you will hear me preach,
               Or see me teach.*
I want to show my thanks
For all you have given me.

*Should the Lord will it to call you home soon.
I will not hang my head down low,
For I know where you will be.
I will gladly let you go.

Let you partake of the marriage feast,*(1)
               Enter your mansion,(2)
               Put on your crown,(3)
And see Him face to face,(4)
               In whom you have believed.
Oh, at what a wonderful place
               You will be!

If by chance my tears I do let show,
*They will be tears of joy,
For I will have gladly let you go.

*She got to see me preach and teach (adult Bible class).  Thank you Lord!
*The Lord, in His mercy, has ended Granny's suffering.  And now she will live with Him eternally.  Thank you Lord!
*(1)Rev. 19:9
  (2)Jn. 14:2
  (3)Rev. 2:10
  (4)I Cor. 13:12
*I did cry happy tears at Granny's funeral.  I was smiling happily as I helped carry her coffin out the church.  She is with Jesus!  Thank you Lord!
