Rebecca Dawn Bogard is a high school
teacher in Biloxi, Mississippi who has become the next in line to be
involved in a teacher-student sex scandal. The student with whom she had
relations was 15.
On January 17, 2008, the 15-year-old student’s mother reported to the Biloxi Police Department that she found sexually explicit text messages from “Dawn” on her son’s cell phone. One of the messages read, “I love you, yeah it was the best, which night was the best 4 you, I’m sensitive but not sore, you were good …” Another message referred to the boy as her little “sex fiend”. Rebecca Bogard taught at the Biloxi Alternative School for troubled teens. She had taken the student shopping before Christmas after lying to the student’s mother that the two were attending a school function. The student was fired from his job at a restaurant because he took extended breaks to meet a blond adult female in her white Jaguar with a license plate that reads “GRRRRR”. Both Bogard and the student admitted to having sex in the car. The teacher is now facing felony sexual battery charges, which carries up to 30 years in jail. She has been suspended from work with pay and is free on $50,000 bail. Bogard is 27 years old.
