WOMEN WHO RUN WITH THE WOLVES
WHERE THE WOLVES ARE SOMETIMES WILD
BUT THE WOMEN ARE
NEVER EVER TAME!
Within every woman there lives a powerful force, filled with good instincts, passionate creativity, and ageless wisdom and knowing. She is the "Wild Woman" but she is an endangered species!
RECLAIMING and HONORING WHAT IS TOUGH...SMART...and UNTAMED
Wild and Woman
When we hear those words, an old, old, memory is stirred and brought back to life. The memory is our absolute, undeniable, and irrevocable kinship with the wild feminine, a relationship which may have become ghosty from neglect, abuse, over-domestication, outlawed by the surrounding culture, or no longer understood anymore. We may have forgotten her names, we may not answer her when she calls ours, but in our bones we know her, we yearn for her, we know she belongs to us and we to her. This page is dedicated to Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D...author of " Women Who Run With The Wolves." And to all the wild women in our lives...Women who have risen above...reclaimed thier strength...and she can live in us too!
FEMININE MAGIC and MEDICINE
If you don't go out in the woods, nothing will ever happen and your life will never begin!
Do not go into the woods they cried...It is scary, a big wolf may come and eat you up! Just a fairy tale...for only when we face and conquer our fears are we free to choose any or all tasks to renew our lives! To bind the wounds inflicted by bad choices, the poor bargain we made somewhere in our lives....Today...I shall go into the woods, be eaten up by that "Big Bad Wolf" named fear and reclaim my life. To regenerate the inner sight, inner knowing, and inner healing of my Wild, Wise, Woman, self. To continue onward even though I have lost all...re-trace and grasp my lost childhood, girlhood, and womanhood. Today...I shall run with the wolves!
WILD WOMEN ARE GIFTED
All women are born gifted. To live close to the instinctual nature does not mean to come undone. It means to find one's pack...be in one's own body...with certainty and pride. It means to act in one's behalf, to find what one belongs to. It means to rise with dignity, to proceed as a powerful being who is friendly, but never tame!
The wild woman is the one who thunders in the face of injustice. She is the one who keeps a woman going when she thinks she is done for. Whether you are trying to rise to the top...or just make it through tomorrow...the wild nature is for you!
JOYOUS BODY...THE WILD FLESH
Sexuality is SACRED to the Wild Woman
The cultural power of the body is in it's beauty...this can fade. But the power in the body is what is rare, for most have chased it away with their torture of or embarrassment by the flesh. The Wild Woman knows there is no "supposed to be" in bodies. The question is not size, not shape, or years of age. The question is do you know how to harness it's full sexual power!

The wild issue is...Does this body feel, does it have the right connection to pleasure, to heart, to Soul, to the Wild? Does it have happiness and joy? Can it in its own way...move, dance, jiggle, sway, and thrust? Bring pleasure? Nothing else matters!

The joy of wild, unrestrained pleasure, comfortable in my own skin and in the freedom to be me...A Woman Who Runs With The Wolves!
FINDING YOUR "WILD WAY"
Tears are like a river that take you somewhere. Weeping creates a river around the boat that carries your soul - life. Tears lift your boat off the rocks, off dry ground, carrying it down river to someplace new, someplace better. A womans crying has been considered to be quite dangerous, for it loosens the locks and bolts on the secrets she keeps. But in truth, for the sake of a woman's Wild Soul it is better to cry and cleanse yourself.

For women, tears are the beginning of your initiation into the Scar Clan, that timeless tribe of women of all colors, all nations, all languages, who down through the ages have lived through a great something, and yet who stood proud and still stand proud.

Let go of the shame and self imposed silence...confront your secret fears of those betrayals, forced acts, unrequited love, rejection, broken promises, neglect, and abuse. Bring these things to the surface, feel the feelings, cry the tears, and cleanse yourself of the pain of holding these shameful secrets. A wound will not heal until the matter is given words and witness. The center of your heart may be pierced, no matter how injured, your soul life continues, it can rise above, and sing it's way up and out again. Then move forward, to forgiveness, of yourself and of others. It may not have turned out to be a "Happily Ever After" but most certainly there is now a fresh "Once Upon a Time" waiting for you from this day forward!

The belly laugh....it awakens the body and the emotions. The kind of unrestrained laughter that rises up from the belly bringing a burst of life. In laughter a woman breathes fully, and when she does, she may begin to feel unsanctioned feelings. And what could these feelings be?
Well, they turn out not to be feelings so much as relief and remedies for feelings, often causing the release of stopped up tears...hence, I laughed until I cried!
Surround yourself during this "Wild Woman" transformation with your most comical sisters, watch funny movies, anything to bring that great, healing, belly laugh.
MY FAVORITE QUOTES FROM MY FAVORITE WOMEN WHO RUN or RAN WITH THE WOLVES
If you want to sacrifice the admiration of many men for the criticism of only one, go ahead, get married!
If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun!
Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get - only with what you are expecting to give - which is everything. What you may receive in return varies. You give because you love and cannot help giving.
Sometimes, I wonder if men and women really suit each other. Perhaps they should live next door and just visit now and then.
KATHERINE HEPBURN
A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song!
Bitterness is like cancer. It eats upon the host. But anger is like fire. It burns it all clean.
One isn't necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can't be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest.
MAYA ANGELOU
There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud...was more painful...than the risk it took to blossom.
Life shrinks or expands according to ones courage.
Don't let one cloud obliterate the whole sky!
Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don't know how to replenish it's source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds.
ANAIS NIN
Some men know that a light touch of the tongue, running from a woman's toes to her ears, lingering in the softest way possible in various places in between, given often enough, would add immeasurably to World Peace!
Women have served all these centuries as looking-glasses possessing the magic and delicious power of reflecting the figure of a man at twice its natural size!
