This is the tube that Scot used for his telescope. Its just a simple concrete form tube, about 4 feet long.

For this project, Scott chose an 8" F6, Parabolic, Plate Glass, SiO2 Coating, 1/4 Wave. (http://www.meridiantelescopes.com/detprim.htm)

The second mirror, the one that focuses the view into the eye piece, is mounted on a "spider mount". This mount allows the angle of the mirror to be adjusted. 1.52" Minor Axis, Secondary Mirrors - Plate Glass, 1/5 Wave, SiO Coating, 89% Reflectivity (Meridian Telescopes)

The base of the telescope is made of wood set on a wooden turntable. This allows the telescope to swivel for better positioning.

A wooden frame around the telescope tube adds support and a pivot for changing the angle. The handle is places at the balance point to make transporting the tube easier.
Here is a view of the inside of the telescope. You can see the main mirror at the bottom.

Its finished at last!
