22 New Baby Snakes
October 8, 2007

Pip (mommy) and newborn babies still in birth sacks. Pip is the pale large snake. She looks so pale because she is getting ready to shed. The brightly patterned snake on top of her is Flinx, the daddy. Pip was poking the babies to get them moving. We were fortunate not to have any stillbirths or "duds".

These babies are just poking their heads out of their birth sacks.

Pip's head is just slightly smaller than a bundled baby.

Here are some more babies tucked away at the back of the tank with Flinx watching over them.

This little one was looking to climb up and out.
This is only some of the babies in their own "baby tank". They are about 18" long and as big around as a pencil.

I love the patterns on the back.

We are handling the babies a lot. They are pretty calm and don't seem to mind being handled.

This baby enjoys wrapping around hands, wrists and arms.

This picture really shows where they get the rainbow name from. This baby has shed recently and the light shows the beautiful irridescence of the scales.
These babies decided to get together to try and climb the wall. Its really interesting seeing how they twine together to get higher.
