As you know, many people are facing the future with very little. Clothing, blankets, and children's toys are very important! Are you one of the many people who would like to lend a Helping Hand? A few years ago my Mother, Pat Sumpter, started the Helping Hands web site to aid the needy in the Eastern Oregon and Idaho areas. It din't take long before our living room was filled with yarn, quilt blocks, baby clothing, and other items donated by caring people. THANK YOU! Mom, who has crocheted all her life, spends a great deal of time transforming the yarn into attractive hats, scarves, gloves and anything else she can think of. Then, all of the donations are gatherd up and distributed to shelters and hospitals. Now that I live in Missouri, I would like to expand the reach of Helping Hands. Along with crocheting scarves, winter head bands, ect. I am also accepting sewing items. Scap material will be made into simple quilts for children and larger material will be made into shirts for both men and women, skirts, dresses, and children's clothing. Patterns would also be greatly appreciated!! If you have materials you would like to donate to Helping Hands please send them to: Sorry, at this I can not accept donations. I will update you when I are able to take more in. Thank you very much! - Sarah [email protected] |
