Shoot 'em up
A topic I've been meaning to rant about for a while, but have just been too damned lazy. That, or since I think about a bunch of things every day, I keep on tacking on new rant points to hit. Ah, well. Here's what I got. Now, the topic for today's rant 'tis the whole kids shooting in school shiznit. Now, first of all, let me say that that whole thing has gotten sooooo dull. I mean, I'm damned sure that a lot of the most recent ones were just to get attention and get on the news and such. But it's gotten old. No one cares anymore. Shoot whoever you want. See, the news glamourizes crime. Want to get on TV? Shoot someone. Blow up something. Commit a crime. All that bullshit about becoming an actor? Most actors never appear in anything, but criminals? THERE'S some fame for ya. Anyways, that's an off-topic rant. Now, look, every single person...well, not every single person, most people, believe that the kids kill other kids because they were teased or made fun of, or are abused at home. Many in a small way, those are influential. But the truth is, many of the kids, including the kids involved in the Columbine shiznit, that go on these rampages have mental illnesses. It's a fact, actually. Go check, most of the kids have somewhat normal lives, they're not too popular, but not much of outcasts, it's just that they're pretty much wacko en la cabeza. Now, what's the point here, then? That these kids being psycho is the whole reason behind the shootings? Sure, well, yeah, we knew that. It's not too sane to come into school with anything that's remotely semi-automatic. Now, I'm sure these kids had some problems with the school, bad grades, maybe they were pissed at someone, but we all are, face it. We all get pissed at some kids, we all want someone to die or get hurt or something at some point. We get bad grades and mentally kill our teacher in a large variety of ways. But we don't act on these violent things. We're able to control ourselves. They're not. Why? Psycho, people, psycho. Now, everyone will now say "Yeah, so? What do we do? Kill all the psycho kiddies?" No. No way in hell. Send 'em all off to mental hospitals? Nah. Most psycho kids have brain medications to keep them...well...not so insane. Wait a second! If they're taking their medication, how come they're insane!? Easy. They're not. Their parents probably force them to...but what happens when they don't have the money? Psycho medicine ain't cheap, friends. They have to buy more and more and more and more, and it eats away at a bank account. What happens when they can't buy more? The pharmacy says "Pfft, go get money." And, boom, psycho kids become psycho. Wait a second...why don't we just make the pharmacys say "No money? Take some anyways!" or "We'll cut down the price for you!" Well, in order to do that, we'd have to make the medicine cheaper for the pharmacies to get. Annnnnd in order to do that...we'd have to reduce the prices. And in order to do that! WE WOULD HAVE TO MAKE THE COMPANIES LOWER THE PRICES. Hence, kids STILL have to pay high prices for medicine, kids act on their violent impulses and we get a nice little page in the newspaper about how some kid blew the crap out of his school. You saw it coming, people. Just about every problem in society can be traced right back to the dollar. The medicinal companies jack up the prices like oil. No money for pills? No pills for you. If you want to stop these shootings, don't bitch at the parents, don't say "Oh, oh, oh, society's shoving all these images of what's cool and what's not on us and people are made outcasts, so they strike back and shoot things." I'm an outcast, my friendly friends. I haven't shot anyone. I know a lot of outcasts who haven't. That's just...a wrong thing to say. Look, you can blame society and be one of those oh-so-typical cynics, or you can actually blame what's causing all this bullshiznit, and be a correct cynic. Will anything happen to stop the companies? Hell no. Will there be more shootings? Of course. Will anyone care? Only until it goes out of fashion. Weeeelp, I'm done. I need some caffine. Ciao.
