To pot or not to pot?
Pot! Weed! Marijuana! Old smokey! Whatever. Who hasn't heard about it? Hell, you can be three years old and you'll at least see the cops busting kids with it, afterwards leaving no trace of the stuff and a few very baked cops. Pot pot pot pot. It's so evil, isn't it? I mean, look! It's an illegal drug! It will reach out and kill you if you even look at it! Run like hell, boys and girls! Umm...seeing as pot has no chemical substance that causes addiction, doesn't that make it safer than cigarettes? Ahem. Take that. Let me make one thing clear, I've never, ever, ever, ever, ever smoked pot. Have I considered it? Not until recently, when I was REALLY educated about it. Marijuana, according to the people that have tried it, even adults, is something everyone tries some time. And, get this, it's HARMLESS. Well, not harmless, but alcoholics are more in danger than potheads. Actually, that's not true, marijuana eats up your bank account, apparently. Whhhhy? Because it's illegal. It's hard to get, it's expensive. Why, people, why do you THINK it's illegal? It's not dangerous, that's proven. You can quit it at any time, you can even push away the high according to some people. Well, not for long, but you can. So...why is it illegal then? One reason. It brings in the cash. For the manufacturers and the cops. They can bust and fine more people. The more people they bust, the more money they get, in many states. The manufacturers? I'd say they're just divisions of bigger corporations. Microsoft's pot shack. Nike's pot hut. And let's not forget the tabacco companies, they have practice pushing drugs on people. If pot was legalized, there'd be no reason for the big bad prices. Plus the fact that it could be advertised, and no one would get that added high from defying society in their own little conformist way. The best advertisement is word of mouth. Street cred. Cigarettes have no street cred. Now, people, I know a lot of you smoke pot occassionally, I know some of you make an obsession out of it, and personally, I have no problem with that. If someone offered me some, I'd try it. Once. I don't have an addicting personality. Now, this is a rant, so there's no central point here. Take what you want from this. Pot's a drug, it's not good for you, but neither are cigarettes, beer...CAFFINE. All drugs. All dangerous. Now, pot's usefulness doesn't just stop at the money-making factor, oh no. The drug war is just a big excuse for making a bunch of arrests and getting more funding put in the police stations. There's more drugs than pot, sure, but pot is so commonplace, they can hold up a bag of it and say "This was worth killing a bunch of kids for!" It's sick, when you think about it. There will always be a drug made illegal for something like that. These are just my thoughts on pot. Plus, I was bored, so I decided to pull a good rant outta my head. Whatever. I'm done.
