Stupid *bleep*ing censorship!
Today's rant is all about censorship. I meant to include it in the whole mental kiddies thing, but ah well. Here goes.
Look at what happens post-kids-shooting-up-their-schools. People are all indignant and oh-so-shocked. My God! In a wonderful, beautiful, peaceful world full of pink bunnies and song birds, what could possibly possess these children to commit acts of violence! Oh, the humanity! So...what's the first thing they point their crinkled womanly fingers at? Our happy electronic child-raisers. Television. That includes movies, video games and just plain old fashioned cable.
Well, son of a gun. Can we say "Free money for rating companies"? Yes. We can. And so can the rating companies. Ever see that advertisement for that little thing that censors out the channels you so designate to shield your children from realit-err...I mean, all that awful stuff on TV? Well, there you go. I think the Simpsons put it quite well when they had the Flanders with pretty much all their channels locked out. "Hey...I thought you had a satellite." "Sure do! 174 channels locked out!" Wee. Look at the Flanders kids. THEY are shielded completely.
Money is up for grabs in that industry. Anything that can have parents put tighter control on their kids' eyes, ears and mouths is a must-buy. Well, for a lot of parents anyways, not all. This is a general thing, you know. I was going to save this example for later, since it covers all bases better than I can even hope to, but to hell with it. I'll just pretend I didn't use it. Ever see The South Park Movie? NEVER, EVER say that's like the episodes. South Park is the stupidiest of shows on TV, basically just the most disgusting ideas piled on top of a generous amount of curses. The Movie was revolutionary.
South Park has a more extreme version of that TV chip thing. The V-chip. It gives Cartman a shock every time he curses. Sounds funny. Is all too true. If a company came out with that, I'd say they would have a staggering amount of customers. There are no human rights for children. They're just piles of clay that can be fucked with any way the parent sees fit.
Now, going back to the movie, I read that the creators of South Park, seeing how many people were for censoring it, took the movie back into editing and actually ADDED more vulgarities. Everyone, go find whoever did that and shake their hands or kiss them, whatever the case may be. Look, it showed all the stupidity in this censorship issue while drawing up all the censorship hussies around it saying "Rate it X! Rate it X!"
Stupidity. Very much so. If you intend to control your kids absolutely, why not just surgically connect their bodies to you? I mean, then you'll save money on all the shield devices, right? Kids have freedom, even though they have no way of fighting for it, and if they try to, they're just given an "Awww...how cute" and shoved away.
Now, the censor hussies target violent movies and television shows and video games. Yet...one thing that's not on their list is the news. Can we say...duh!? Look, you can't all say "Stop being so violent!" and then turn around and invade Canada. I think I used that example before. Video games? I have yet to see one person that regards that as reality. Not I. I've obsessively played Quake 2 for a while, and watched a ridiculous amount of blood splatter all over the place. But, I shut it off. I don't go stab something.
Look, the Neo-Nazis have no trouble marching around the Jewish neighborhoods because they're exersizing their freedom of speech. And...KIDS don't have the same rights?! Kids, teens, whatever, people have no right to tell them what to see, read and hear. If you're going to do that, you might as well just transform your kids into robots.
Does anyone know about this little censor bitch named Penny somethingorother? Well, she, evidently, is one of the leaders of this "Let's shield our kids from reality!" (AKA: "Mothers Against Canada") thing. I recently saw a flash movie involving her being hung, and another one where your goal was to shoot her head as it popped up. Something about killing the head of this censorship shit made me laugh out loud. When I calmed down, I realized that this censoring MADE people violent. Teens WANT to keep their rights. They'll commit acts of violence to keep them from being taken away from them. So...the censorship movement, evidently claiming it will make kids less violent is actually inspiring violence. Do I see a big pile of bullshit? I do, I do!
Life equals hardship, life equals violence. REALITY isn't happy-go-lucky, my friendly friends. You can't keep your kids from life. As living creatures, they're gonna be violent, their gonna see blood, and you trying to hold them back isn't going to help shit. Back off. It's better they see the world early than see it too late.
