By: Ben (Corniest. Yes, they wake up. Is that reason to name a whole chapter after it!?! No! Stupid Ben.) A cloaked maiden hummed her way into dawn, the pale moon sinking in its weariness and allowing the dark sky to crease with folds of new, pink day-flesh. Soon, the white sun would engulf the land in light, but for now, shadows still lingered about the forest, unwilling to give up such a choice location. A dark green leave swished up to Suya's face boldly, recieving a kind look from within the shadows. Suya: What say you, then? Will this be a kind dawn or is the night unchanging? The leaf fell to its brethern, which floated calmly about the form of the maiden. Suya nodded mournfully. Suya: So it is with every day. Violence stirs the air once more. Let us give the victims the fairest warning. After all, She raised a long-fingered hand. Suya: A battle without equality is death. And the bold leaf sped off. A mound of silent forms stole easily through the brush, the sound of a dreamily ranting brook growing closer and closer with each step, and their weapons glinting in the sunlight. Cavoh's eyes fluttered open as a cool touch grazed his nose. They narrowed at the sight of a green leaf on it, which twitched slightly with the early morning breeze. Within an instant, Cavoh was up, sword in hand and leaf left to float off into the forest. Cavoh: Suya!? His demanding voice awakened his new comrade, who slowly got to his feet and blinked owlishly at Cavoh. Massah: Say what? Cavoh lowered his sword and turned around to explain to his comrade when a loud whizz ended abruptly by a thud made both men tense their muscles and freeze in place. A small crossbow bolt shook violently in the tree trunk it had buried itself in. Massah: So much for sleep. <~~Back to Stories <~~Back to Suya Index |
