THE ADVERTS were a lot more than one chord wonders and will always be a big favourite for me being the first punk band I ever seen in the flesh and without a doubt one of the best punk bands I've seen in 30 years. They hit a true peak of their greatness with classics like 'Gary Gilmore Eyes' and 'No Time To Be 21' However the punk bubble burst in '79 after more tours of toilets. They're pictured here at the very start of their career in January 1977 outside the Roxy Club, London. |
