| "You are not the only creature in London who can best the Kine, though I admit I enjoyed watching your work. Im certain their lives will no longer be the same now, however short or fruitful." - Vinchensa, "A Guise by Gaslight" | |||||||
| Real Name: Vinchensa Maria Violetta Delvechio Common Aliases: Viktoriya Ivanov, Vincent Delvechio, Dorian O'Conner, Maria Valentine, Vincent Isaaks (among others) Date of Birth: August 3rd, 1853 Place of Birth: Rome, Italy Race: Ananasi (Anomia), of Mediterranean decent Training: Theological Studies, Theatrical Acting Appearance: Varies with each body she assumes History: 1853 - 1867 Vinchensa lived a fairly quiet, normal life with her family on the upper floor apartment above a small theater just inside Rome. Her father owned & operated the theater, and occasionally, when the situation called for it, Vinchensa would audition and act within the plays at the theater. By the age of 14, she was already being touted as the 'next great actress' by more than a few theatrical critics in the city. 1868 - 1872 Things took a turn for the worst shortly after her 15th birthday. The neighbors described hearing a hissing growl, 'a noise no thing of God could ever make', and rushed inside the Delvechio apartment to find Vinchensa, kneeling in the center of the floor in a state of shock, trembling and muttering to herself 'in tongues', while both her parents lay flayed upon on the floor to either side of her. Spiders were found crawling over the corpses. The slayings were attributed to some sort of demonic force, and Vinchensa herself was subjected to a series of exorcisms, before being sent to live in a convent by her uncle (who had taken over ownership of the theater), to 'protect her from the Beast that took her parents so.', one of the neighbors described. While living in the convent as a nun, she discovered that she had strong feelings for one of the Sisters - a Sister Cathrine Elizabeth. Cathrine Elizabeth declined when Vinchensa suggested a tryst between the 2, and immedeately went to tell the Bishop. The Bisop propositioned Vinchensa, in exchange for keeping her secret. Vinchensa declined, and was excommunicated from the church. The Bishop turned up missing less than a week later. No trace of his body was ever found. 1873 - 1879 Vinchensa left her home for the first time in her life, and travelled into Russia. While hunting in Moscow breifly after her arrival, she met an Austiran vampire named Vash St. Croix, who mistakenly thought her to be one of his own kind. After couple years or so of playful competition, Vash agreed to take Vinchensa (Calling herself Viktoriya at this time) under his wing, as a student and 'lover'. Vash mistakenly attempted to sire Vinchensa into his clan (the Tzimisce), but found her to be somewhat less than receptive to his attempt. After a violent bout of illness from his blood, Vinchensa proceeded to repay the pain given in kind. Vinchensa waited until Vash was 'asleep' for the morning, and dragged him from his coffin, hammering nails into his hands & feet to enact a mock crucifixion on the walls of his Haven (which, it might be noted, when he awoke... Vash enjoyed very much). At his suggestion, Vinchensa packed her things the next day, and left for the Americas. 1880 - 1882 On the ship to the New World, Vinchensa discovered for the first time, that through sheer force of will when reforming herself from her Crawlerling form, she chould entirely change her gender from that of a woman, to that of a man. Her masculine form looked different enough that no one would know they were the same person, and yet similiar enough to pass as her brother... and thus, Vincent Delvechio was born. She spent the better part of the trip practicing her newfound trick, until she assumed the guise of Vinchensa less and less... Her time in the New World was spent, almost entirely, as Vincent. She, or rather, he aligned himself with a Sabbat Pack in Canada, travelling to the Northwestern territories of the US, "Bravely hunting their Lupine foes", as they put it. Vincent grew bored quickly, and decided to return back to Europe, to live in London, where Vash had said he may travel after she'd left... 1883 - 1888 Just having established herself in London (registering a home beside St. Paul's Cathedral at Cardinal's Wharf, under herself, and the name of her 'brother' Vincent), she set out to find Vash. What she found instead, piqued her interest far more than rekindling an old flame. A small, dedicated order of ex-Catholic preists calling themselves "The Fellowship of the Sixth Seal". Their philosophy was, that in order to return the world to the way that God had intended it to be, everything had to first be destroyed through the Apocalypse. Unbeknowst to most of the Fellowship's members, the entire High Council was an amalgam of different supernatural creatures. Vinchensa felt right at home, and joined them as quickly as she could pass their 'tests' (too numerous to list here). 1889 The Fellowship's search for a 'bring capable of bringing the End Times with but a wave of the hand' culminated in the locating, and study from afar of a rogue Tremere dwelling within London. Isola Arzachel, known in some circles as 'The Arzachel', passing herself off as Signora Adriano, an Italian mystic, of some reputation for her short time dwelling in the city. After convincing one of her neighbors to hold a seance, and giving him the name of Signora Adriano, the stage was set. She would gain Isola's trust, and even invite her to live inside Vinchensa and her brother's dwelling, with intent to seduce Isola and draw her into the Fellowship. After getting a slightly colder reception than she'd expected, Vinchensa abaonded her female persona, in favor of her brother Vincent. An evening out on the town took a nasty turn, with Vincent giving into his baser cravings, feeding from a man suffering from a bout of 'chasing the dragon', so offered to him by Isola. In a drugged stupor, he followed her back to a room, where she operated on him, and discovered his secret... vestigal female internal organs. He questioned her about what had happened, and after a nasty verbal battle (which included Vinchensa revealing herself as the true persona), Isola left the home at Cardinal's Wharf. A few days after this incident, having let herself recover, and find a safe haven from the Fellowship who now hunted her as a failure and a traitor... She assumed the mantle of Vincent once again, and returned to the Grey Gryphon, where Isola had performed her operation on him. Everyone inside the building was shot to death with a Colt sidearm, and when he found Isola, a struggle ensued which ended with Vincent staking her with a railroad spike through her heart, and stuffing her inside of her own travelling trunk. He then took the trunk with him, and travelled to Paris for a year, living in solitude, until he decided to return to the New World, with his newfound trophy... 1890 Vinchensa herself had booked a trip on her breif return to London, to New York until September, and a return trip to London after that. Of course, once she got there, a change of itinerary was going to be in order. The stop in New York had proved useful. A comatose man lying in a hospital bed, only breaths away from his own demise, served very useful as a replacement body for her Crawlerlings to eat from the inside out. After arising, and being greeted as Dorian O'Conner, Vinchensa claimed amnesia, and took her things from where they were conveniently stashed (at this point, a small satchel of promisary notes, and the trunk containing her travelling companion) and headead north, then west, toward a silver mining town near the western edge of what would come to be called British Columibia in later days. The life she lived as Dorian quickly became fruitful, as he discovered a previously unknown silver deposit on the outskirts of the tin township. The trunk, now burried in a closet and wrapped in 2 layers of thick, purple velvet, has become all but a distant memory to Dorien O'Conner. 1891 - 1899 Dorian O'Conner had carved himself quite a niche in the tiny little society he had come to call home in recent years. In fact, he had been here since shortly after the first mine was discovered and a small settlement had cropped up around it. Out of necessity rather than of any real knowledge... Dorian decided to pass himself off as the kindly Doctor O'Conner, to account for his rahter... extravagant way of dress and life. The miners here would more than likely have killed him years ago, the damned Irishman... were it not for the fact that, before he discovered a silver deposit all his own, he was the only doctor in town. No one really noticed how many of Dorian's patients died as they were being cared for - mining accidents were rarely survivable anyway. This afforded Dorian with a great many opportunites to experiment... and more importantly, to feed. Things changed for Dorian after the silver deposit was discovered. No longer in need of a ruse to cover for his lifestyle, he quit the medical profession and turned to more artistic persuits. A portion of the raw silver mined from his deposit was turned over to him, to craft into jewelry, which was sold either in his shop, or shipped abroad for sale. Rumors began to persist about the township itself, however. Some of the more paranoid miners (at least in the eyes of the skeptical), speak of creatures living in the woods. Howling out in the woods plagues them at all hours of the night, and yet strangely... The townsfolk have never seen a wolf or a coyote coming anywhere near their fair home. Others speak of seeing a thick coating of cobwebs covering several of the trees outside of town, and seeing human bodies wrapped within their strands. These rumors have thus far proven unsubstansiated, though a noticeable amount of miners have vanished into the woods without return since the second deposit was discovered... |
