Harry woke the next morning just before the alarm started going off. He stretched and silently got out of bed, covering Ginny with the blankets. He dressed in silence and began writing a goodbye not for her as dread slowly filled his belly. This could be the last time he ever saw her. He sat on the edge of the bed and lightly ran his hand across her cheek. Ginny, he whispered, I have to go now.
She stirred and opened her eyes, slightly, still half asleep. Goodbye, Harry. I love you, she mumbled as she fell back to sleep.
I love you too, he said as he kissed her on the forehead and left the room. He finished his letter and left it on the dining table as he left the house. He double checked the lock on the door and apparated to the back garden of 12 Grimmauld place.
He was one of the last to arrive, and the house was nearly full of order members. Where did all these people come from? he asked as he approached Hermione, they werent at any of the other meetings Ive attended.
Apparently, this is the entirety of the order. Many people dont attend the meetings because they felt the way you did, that defense wasnt enough and action needed to be taken. So I guess they are the real Dumbledores Army. She chuckled at this, remembering their defense club, we also have several new, younger members, she waved to Neville across the room.
Harry nodded to Cho Chang who was standing in a corner looking sheepish, I noticed that, believe it or not.
Hey, wheres Ginny? Neville had joined them, I would think that she would want to be here with us, considering that she was a victim herself once.
Harry shook Nevilles hand, still amazed at the change in him. After meeting up with Bellatrix, Neville had taken it upon himself to become an excellent spell caster; he was now almost up there in range with Ron and Hermione. Harry cleared his throat and dropped his voice a few levels, as to not be overheard, she is still sleeping, at the moment, but will not be joining in the fight. Shes in hiding as we believe she is Voldemorts next target.
Hiding? Where at? Oh, I suppose you cant tell me that, right. Well, I am assuming you are the secret keeper, Harry? What happens to her if you....er...lets say...dont make it? Neville looked nervous. Im not really sure how that spell works.
Harry scrunched up his forehead in thought, I dont know, it honestly never occurred to me! I will have to ask Dumbledore about that, excuse me, he left them and strode across the room to where Dumbledore was talking with Snape and Mad-eye. Er-excuse me professors, I dont mean to interrupt but I have a question for you sir, he said, catching Dumbledores eye, what happens if I die? he hadnt realized just how boldly he said that-or what connotations it could have-until even Moody was looking at him with a look of shock on his scarred face. Oi! I mean, to the special place and the person in it. No one will be able to find it. How will...what? he glared at Snape who was laughing softly yet maliciously at him.
You really do just go diving into things without thinking, dont you. Just like that father of yours- he was stopped by Harry lunging at him.
Harry struggled against the arms of Mad-eye Moody, who was stopping him from throttling Snape with his bare hands. Dont you EVER talk about any member of my family ever again! I dont want to hear those words come out of your filthy mouth ever again...snivellis Harry spat at him and stormed out of the room.
He was met in the hallway by Dumbledore, Harry, I know these are stressful times, but you said yourself, we have to stop fighting each other. Ginny will be fine; we set up the floo network so she can be kept notified as to what happens, that is why we did the charm on the house not on her, so she can leave if necessary. In addition, you have your mirrorah you thought I didnt know about that, well who do you think ended up with the pair of them sitting on his desk after your father and Sirius got caught with them? Ginny will be kept well informed of any news.
Harry breathed a sigh of relief, "Thank you, sir, but please don't tell anyone about the mirror,"
Dumbledore smiled and nodded, "of course not, as far as I know, there are only three people alive who know about that ingenious bit of spellwork, however, after all this is finished, perhaps we should suggest it to Fred and George weasley as they have been so helpful to our cause and it would be a great seller!" he chuckled as he turned to call everyone into the meeting.
