Turian Liquor

"She picked up the small tray from the stand near the table. On it was the small vessel
containing a thick, sweet liquor from distant Turia, the Ar of the south, and the two tiny glasses from which we had sipped it."
----Explorers of Gor

"Publius, to my surprise, selected a liqueur of Turia. 'Those of Turia are the best,' he said to Drusus Rencius, smiling, almost apologetically."
----Kajira of Gor

Water

"He came to me, bent over, tattered, swarthy, grinning up at me, the verrskin bag over his shoulder, the brass cups, a dozen of them, attached to shoulder straps and his belt, rattling and clinking...Without removing the bag from his shoulder, he filled the cup...the water flowed into the cup between a tiny vent-and-spigot device, which wastes little water, by reducing spillage, which was tied in and waxed into a hole in the front left foreleg of the verrskin.  The skins are carefully stripped and any rents are sewed up, the seams coated with wax.  When the whole skin is thoroughly cleaned of filth and hair, straps are fastened to it, so that i might be conveniently carried on the shoulders, or over the back..."
----Tribesmen of Gor

"She then went to one of the large, wooden, covered water buckets, roped to the deck, and in it submerged a water-skin. I heard the bubbling as the skin filled."
----Marauders of Gor

Wine (light)

"The first wine, a light white wine, was being deferentially served by Pamela and Bonnie."
----Fighting Slave of Gor

Falarian Wine

"Among these petitioners came one fellow bringing with him the promise of a gift of wine, a wine supposedly secret, the rare Falarian, a wine only rumored among collectors to exist, a wine supposedly so rare and precious that its cost might purchase a city. She , though only a slave, would choose to sip it."
----Mercenaries of Gor

Ka-la-na

"I turned and, among the furnishings of the tent, found a bottle of Ka-la-na, of good
vintage, from the vineyards of AR, the loot of a caravan raid. I then took the wine, with a small copper bowl, and a black, red-rimmed wine crater, to the side of the fire."
----Captive of Gor

"I went to his locker near the mat and got out his Ka-la-na flask; taking a long draught myself and then shoving it into his hands. He drained the flask in one drink and wiped his hand across his beard, stained with the red juice of the fermented drink."
----Tarnsman of Gor

Ka-la-na and Women

It is said, said Verna, that ka-la-na wine makes any woman a slave, if but for an hour.  She looked at me. Is it true?
I said nothing. I recalled with shame how I had, near the fire, placing my guards hand in my binding fiber, encouraged by my own ravishment as a slave girl, and how I had knelt, my hair falling about his face, to kiss him.
----Captive of Gor

*NOTE: On the issue seen in roleplay of  ka-la-na turning to poison in silver, read on;

"I do not wish to come home with you now," she said, lightly, a bit of Ka-la-na spilling from the silver goblet she held. At a gesture from Kliomenes, who sat, cross-legged, beside her, a half-naked paga slave, whose left ankle was belled, refilled Miss Henderson's cup.
----Rogue of Gor

Palm Wine

"One of her most delicious exports is palm wine."
----Explorers of Gor

"My recommendation," said Ayari, "would be to stab him, when he is not looking, or
perhaps to poison his palm wine"
----Explorers of Gor

Ta-Wine

"One girl held our head back, and others, from goblets, gave us of wines, Turian wine,
sweet and thick, Ta wine, from the famed Ta grapes, from the terraces of Cos, wines
even, Ka-la-nas, sweets and dry, from distant Ar"
----Tribesmen of Gor

" 'Thank you, Master,' I said, and drank some swallows of the beverage. It was Ta wine, from the Ta grapes of the terraces of Cos. Such a small thing, in its way, bespoke the intimacy of the trade relations between Vonda and Cos. In the last year heavy import duties had been levied by the high council of Vonda against the wines of certain other cities, in particular against the Ka-la-nas of Ar."
----Fighting Slave of Gor

Wines (diluted)

"Shirly hurried about, making sure there was wine in the goblets. Callimachus drand water, but he permitted a drop of wine to mix in the water, that the ceremony of the toast might be one in which he fully shared. Wine, incidentally, is often mixed with water in Gorean homes. This is primarily because of the potency of many Gorean wines. The wines I was serving, however, were such that, sensibly, they could be served undiluted. An alternative with the potent wines is to serve very small amounts of them."
----Guardsman of Gor

"When wine is drunk with Gorean meals, at home, incidentally, it is almost always diluted, mixed with water in a crater. At a party of convivial supper the host, or elected feast master, usually determines the proportions of water to wine. Unmixed wine, of course, may be drunk, for example at the parties of young men, at which might appear dancers, flute slaves and such. Many Gorean wines, it might be mentioned, if only by way of explanation, are very strong, often having an alcohol content by volume of forty to fifty percent."
----Renegades of Gor

I looked at the girl. Her eyes met mine, softly. Her lips were slightly parted.
Wine, Master? she asked. Yes, I said, I will have wine.
She poured the diluted wine into my cup, bowed her head and with a shy smile,
backed gracefully down the stairs behind me, then turned and hurried away.
----Assassin of Gor

The food at the table of Cernus was good, but it was plain, rather severe,
like the master of the House.I had tarsk meat and yellow bread with honey, Gorean peas and a tankard of diluted ka-la-na, warm water mixed with wine.
----Assassin of Gor

Mischellaneous

Ice

"My house, incidentally, like most Gorean houses, had no ice chest. There is little cold storage on Gor. Generally, food is preserved by being dried or salted. Some cold storage, of course, does exist. Ice is cut from ponds in the winter, and then stored in ice houses, under sawdust. One may go to the ice houses for it, or have it delivered in ice wagons. Most Goreans, of course, cannot afford the luxury of ice in the summer."

Contraceptives (Fluid Form)

Breeding Wine

This is not a drink which is served. It is for medical purposes.
Given to slaves that are to be "bred" Reverses the effect of Slave Wine.

"She did not need the sip root, of course, for, as she had pointed out, she had had some within the moon, and indeed, the effect of sip root, in the raw state, in most women, is three or four moons. In the concentrated state, as in slave wine, developed by the caste of physicians, the effect is almost indefinite, usually requiring a releaser for its remission, usually administered, to a slave, in what is called the breeding wine, or the "second wine". When this is administered she usually knows that she has been selected for crossing with a handsome male slave."
----Blood Brothers of Gor

Slave Wine

This is not a drink to be served. It is for Medical purposes only.
Given to slaves as a contraceptive.

"Slave wine is bitter, intentionally so. Its effects lasts for more than a Gorean month. I did not wish the females to conceive. A female slave is taken off slave wine only when it is her master's intention to breed her."
----Marauders of Gor

"Slave wine makes sense in a slave-holding culture such as Gor. The breeding of slaves, like any sort of domestic animals, and particularly valuable ones, is carefully
controlled. As a slave, of course, I could be bred, or crossed, when, and however, my
master might see fit. It is the same as with other animals."
----Dancer of Gor

Free Womans Contraception

"That is what we must drink," I had informed her, noting with satisfaction the expression on her face as she had lifted up the bowl, filled with foul brew, and had smelled it. "It is not like the delicious beverages quaffed by free women for such purposes, is it?" I asked
No," she whispered.
