7 - Marilyn Manson's Antichrist Superstar CD Cover

This was for a project for my illustration class. It took me a lot of energy and a lot of time, but I think it's worth it. The sign saying the artist and the title of the CD wasn't as planned, but it came out good. Originally, I wanted to have a crucifix behind the being, of course (which the being/worm has a theme within the music in the CD).

Even though he's very controversial, Marilyn Manson does inspire me to be more creative because I think he's creative himself. He always has different types of makeup, designs his own clothes, stages, and videos. That, to me, takes a lot of creativity.

I got inspired by one of MM's interviews where he mentioned he had a dream that his father showed him his insides. The being is the worm-state and the "Angel with the scabbed wings" together as one.

Ironically, I used the Book of Revelations for the collage in the back, and drew alien hieroglyphs symbolizing the alien theme in Mechanical Animals, the album after this one. In a way, I see him just like a comic book character, nothing more, nothing less.
