There is a wide variety of stuff to choose from when you go to Tahou's.

They have several types of Garbage Plates:

1. Chessburger(our fav)

2. Hot Dog

3. Delmonico Steak

4. Italian Sausage

5. Even an Egg plate!

6. Plus many more!

Each plate you can choose 2 of these: Macaroni Salad, Beans, Home Fries, and French Fries

Oh yeah you get 3 peices of bread with it too.

The Usual Orders of the Fuks

You also can get just the regular stuff like a Chessburger of hot dog by itself, but what is the fun in that! Tahou's has a breakfast menu too so you can start your day off with good food.

Tahou's is packed at from around midnight to 2 after the bars close. It's the place to be! Tahou's is open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. As of March 15, 1999 the Main street resturant will close at 8pm because of ecessive violence.

There are other imitation plates around the Rochester area but only settle for the original and the best!

In January 1996, Nick Tahou passed away after being ill for some time. Nick's son, Alex, has actually been running the place for quite a while now and continues to do so.

A little history of Nick Tahou Hots

Nick Tahou came to Rochester in 1937, selling hot dogs on the street near the Baltimore & Ohio railroad depot. He eventually bought a restaurant near the current Main Street location. The restaurant was moved to its current location when the Interstate Highway 490 overpass was built on top of the old location. A second Nick Tahou's Hots, considerably less dingy than the downtown spot, is located on Lyell Avenue(where I go).
