One of the lasting traditions is sushi making.  You can't have this many people get together to make sushi and have them agree on the correct way to make sushi.  Of course, nobody agrees with Uncle Bob!  Making the rice is the most common argument, followed closely by which ingrediants go best together.  Last november Scott made his with one ingredient.  The sushi gods are still deciding whether to suspend him for that sushi, but can't find the rule that he broke.  We all know what rule you can't break when making sushi,  you must use an odd number of ingredients.
 

Even if Uncle Bob were right,, would you admit it?  He has stiff competition here.  Janet and Karen,,,I mean could you make a decent sushi with Karen next to you talking?
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

You've heard of Neon Deion and Ichiro!  Now meet Sushi Sumi.  Why is it that stars have to always have their shades nearby?   I have to admit that I made a sushi roll, but did not help much with the rice or ingredients.  Sushi Sumi is the allstar of the kitchen.  I bet she spent 80% of her time in the kitchen during the reunion.  That meant we had lots of great food to eat.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Sushi making is a ruthless sport requiring strength , endurance and most of all sharp elbows.  A carefully placed elbow makes Kevin drop his rice early causing his roll to be uneven.  Mom then edges out Benita for the last piece of nori.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

The winner of the sushi making contest was Keith.   He proudly shows off the winner roll.  Tears of joy in his eyes as he gazes at what he thinks is perfection roll in nori.  He knows with this honor he has bragging rights till the next reunion that he and only he stands on top of the sushi roll pile.
  I didn't have the heart to tell him the only reason he won was because he is the only one I have a picture of with their sushi roll.
 
 

    My Dad is an old pro at cards and Gin is one of his favorite card games.  So its no surprise that he was at the table playing against the young ones.  Uncle Bill makes sure he spends time with everyone and this was a good way to spend some time with these guys.  David and John don't look like card players.  Especially  the bottom left picture,  Do these two look like they have their poker faces on?  I can't remember who won this game but it really doesn't matter.  The winner was everyone who played.  When you play together and are having fun...generation gaps seem to not exist.
