Love Scorned
Oh that I know
betrayal so real,
treachery’s grasp
I now can feel.
I turned my back,
the dagger delt,
the unwitting
wrath of my brother felt.
Love has scorned my
beating heart,
love that I sought
from life’s very start.
I once had known
love sublime,
but it could not
pass the test of time.
My brother now
seeks to steal that love,
stolen from me a
gift from above.
Those dreams are
now faded, hope is now gone,
release from my
pain is now all that I long.
For now I know
just what I’ve lost,
a love that I found
was beyond any cost.
