SEVA BHARATHI
Seva Bharathi is the service wing of the Rashtriya SWayamsevak Sangh RSS. The Rss has been serving the needy since 1925 from the inception of the idea of the Sangh. The role of RSS in times of intense need to the nation viz. Natural Calamities is a well-known fact.
But it was only under the guidance of the third Sarsaghchalak Shree Balasaheb Deoras in 1984 that the Service wing was full fledged and Came under the Name SEVA BHARATHI nationwide. Balasahebji wanted to transform the energy of lakhs of trained volunteers of RSS in solving the basic problems of millions of Indian poor through SERVICE The first SEVA Pramukh Shree YADAVRAO JOSHI has been the guiding spirit. The idea of Sewa of RSS stands different.
The Motto of service is to make the needy to stand up on their own by giving them the Moral input for the same. Hence the service activities are not an end but means
Our Guidelines:
The Activity should be small but consistent. This helps in nation wide expansion through a replicable model. The activity should be centered amongst the needy which will generate a sense of Owning by the needy and which will accelerate the more important Social Transformation Aspect. Peoples Support stands the baseline of SEVABHARATI. Hence we are not dependent on Govt. funds.
Later in 1989 the then Pranth Pracharak (State Incharge) Shree Somepalli Somaiah initiated the Service Wing for the Western Andhra Pradesh Seva Bharathi (Reg. No: 3136/90/AP) with the vision SEVA SANSKAR SANGHATAN and since then Service to the poor and Neglected has been the Mission of Seva Bharathi. Seva Bharathi started in a small way by is running Single Teacher Schools in the remotest Tribal hamlets to impart education to the neglected Vanvasis, Destitute Homes for children, Tribal Hostels, Hostels for the Backward Classes, Medical Aid Center, Mobile Medical Clinic, Women Welfare Centers, Cultural Get-togethers, Balsamskara Kendras to motivate Children towards Education.
Seva Bharathi is an NGO Regd. Under the Registrar of Societies Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Regions) Public societies Registration Act 1350 Fasli (Act 1 of 1350 F) Reg. No. Mentioned above. Sevabharati provides Education, Health facilities, Women & handicap welfare, Rural Development, Motivation, co-ordination and Thrift in the Tribal and inaccessible needy. With a wide reach in Telangana, Rayalaseema districts and is running the following projects.
After 11 years of Consistent work in the needy sections of Western AP Sevabharati has evolved long term perspectives in the areas where the need is felt more.
Y As such the Tribal work has become concentrated in 3 major TRIBAL groups the Chenchus, The Gonds, The Lambadas.
Y Our Efforts in taking EDUCATION where it has not reached yet is another milestone, the 100 and odd schools in most inaccessible areas stand a testimony to our effort. Our 6 primary schools now have evolved in to hub-centers of tribal development.
Y The medical aid being rendered with a slogan of DOCTOR AT THE DOORSTEP is a point of mention. The 20 rural medical centers where we render medical aid/services from a 10 bed Hospital, Medical van, to a temporary camp in the interior hamlets have the baseline of serving the last man in the last line. The concept of Community Health worker/ Arogya Karyakartha is a major achievement.
Y Caring for the Destitute and those deprived. From a very small beginning (1989) with three children at malkajgiri has now grown to reach 250 Destitutes and the needy from 143 interior villages. Some 38 Destitute Girl children at Vaidehi Ashtram have atlast found their affectionate mother where the plight of destitute girl child is most deplorable.
Y The pioneering efforts of two dedicated social workers for the last decade in two villages Gurrevula and Chityal have resulted in forming of Grama Bharati (an NGO dedicated to Rural Development). The Grama Bharathi is instrumental in Rural Development activities in 25 selected villages of !0 districts of western AP.
Y Self-reliance. A concept to be implemented in enormous proportion is being experimented in a successful way in the shape of Thrift Programs, Stitching centers, Technical education centers. An Innovative move started with the help Of TGT (a family trust) in the area of MICROCREDIT is helping 50 youth to Take up Entrepreneur activity.
Y Above all we Stand tall amongst all NGOs with our efforts in a unexplored area Of service activity of imparting the right values amongst children and women. By running BALSAMSKAR KENDRAS, MATRUMANDALI, BHAJAN GROUPS. Thousands participate weekly. The demonstration of 1998 26th Jan of 3,500 slum children is an example in itself.
Y Lending a hand to Handicapped. Our fill-timer Pradeep MA himself blind Is leading 250 Visually handicapped & guiding us in our service for Blind project.
A rural young mans effort in mobilizing 25 immovable physical handicapped children to a school is a big opening for us.A small beginning indeed but the journey has started.
