About Camille
March 21, 1985, Camille Marie Henderson was born to a young couple, Ken and Linda. Raised primarily by her mother, though money was tight, Camille never wanted for anything. As director of the church choir her Linda encouraged her daughter to sing while her grandmother encouraged her to write. In the fifth grade the young girl was invited to be the lead singer of an all-girl group called The Girlz. Though the group did not pan out Camille became engrossed in writing her own songs and perfecting her craft.
By the time that high school came around Camille had already written hundreds of songs and knew in her heart that she was going to make it big. After befriending future rap star, Nastassia Anne Johnson, the youngster began working on her performance skills. Soon, she had recruited a team of back up dancers and a small following of devoted students who watched their rehearsals every day at lunch time. It wasn't until a few of the children's parents came to the school to see what their children were raving about that both Camille and Nastassia realized that they truly had something.
The summer before senior year of high school both young ladies took a road trip with Linda to New York City to find the girls a recording label. After a series of doors being slammed in their faces they were on the verge of giving up when they ran into manager, Johnny Wright, of WEG Entertainment. Within months both girls had been signed to JIVE Records with developmental contracts. Eager to get her first album underway, Camille headed into the recording studio with her producer uncles, Ice Berg & Cue, to begin work on her material. Ninety percent of the songs created at that point ended up on the album. Every single was a number one hit as well as the album itself.
