Guardians

They are described in ancient myths as the Sheear, but that denomination hasn't been used since most of the Guardians were returned to their realm. The Guardians are beings different among themselves, most have no physical form, like Aecteri, having to take refuge inside another being to be capable of interaction; or have multiple forms, like Rayen, which can assume any form she wishes. Beyond these two remaining Sheear, the Shanla have little evidence of others still present in this realm.

Aecteri, which is called Deathbringer by the Shanla, is usually more associated with life in Halle legend. He is said to control both, and the Shanla's aversion to his presence is speculated to be related with either his connection to Rayen, using her knowledge to change the paths to fit his will; or most likely, with his presumed connection to Death, a character of Shanla legend, for they both have a similar appearance in the place of dreams. Aecteri is capable of controlling other beings through suggestion and by physically taking control of them, when he is in this realm. When he is not, he may access the place of dreams, and thus attempt to convince a mortal sorcerer to summon him. It is said that he searches for the secret of the passage between his realm and this one, so that he may freely enter without being endebted. The Halle have been known to call on him whenever their lives were to be cut short. In exchange for granting them time, he would request something in return, his prices were usually knowledge.

Rayen, or Kaylen Reish is also reffered to as the guardian of time. She has no true sense of its passing, having seen the entirety of all the things she ever will see, everything to her has already happened. Because of that, she lives without any interaction with the world around her, and does not concern any of the others, but she has the ability of draining that sense of past and present from another being, a Shari with the gift of sight. She is drawn to the seers, and the stronger they are, the more she can get a feel of time. That is why the Shanla have, throughout the centuries, vowed to eliminate her chosen seers.
