Dessra Netu

It is not clear until now where the Book of Fire came from, or why it is written in the Shanla's language, which also seems to be the language mostly used by such beings as Aecteri. It is assumed that the latter cannot, and never could see its words. The Halle seem to be the only ones with that ability, even though the Shanla claim that the Book belongs to them by heritage. Not even the writer of the Book is know. All that is know with a certain degree of certainty is that it came into the possession of Cassandra, the first Halle to read from its pages, sometime before 1000 bC. After refusing to read it for Aecteri, he set a curse on her line. The first child of every generation would die once they reached their eighteenth year of life. In her anger, Cassandra said words she would later regret, and condemned every other Halle, including her own descendants, to live in the darkness of not knowing what was written in the Book of Fire. Only after a thousand years would one be born able to see the symbols that were drawn in its pages. And when Helena died on her eighteenth year, the knowledge was thought to be lost... But that is another story.
What is below was initially from Hagia Sophia's notes on the translation of the Book of Fire. Where she obtained the information is unknown. The one she protected believed that it had been placed into her mind by Aecteri somehow. For the more she understood of the Book, the more he would have of it. After Hagia's death, Helena continued her work in the translation, but only with what the old woman had left her, a copied dictionary of most pronouns, some verbs and nouns, and a few expressions that could not be translated literally.
The unquestionable dictionary is shown below, but is still far from completion... Maybe someday, the secrets of the dessra netu will be revealed to all who are worthy of its power... Until then, we await with what we have...
