Episode III: Into Burning Space
We last left our heroes facing a man in a big robot suit, who just burst out of the elevator in the hotel they were staying in. Gene whips out his gun, and Hilda puts an arm out to stop him because of the law that you can't use guns on Blue Heaven. Gene explains they're just paint bullets, but not normal ones... He loads them into his gun (looking cool while doing it, I might add) and fires three shots right away. All three hit the visor through which the guy inside needs to see out of, and the robot flails its arms around helplessly, trying to get the paint off. The guy pops his head out of the top, and tries to get out. He then realizes that the little door on top was only meant for sticking his head out of, so he orders Hilda and Gene to hang tight while he gets out the back. Gene laughs, and Hilda whips out her taser and hops behind the robot. The guy (finally) gets out the back of the robot, and Hilda shocks the hell out of him.
Not much later, Hilda had snapped one of the assaulters awake, and is questioning him, rather violently, at that. He says that Ron MacDougal set them up to it, that they either had to capture them or hold them in the hotel until Ron could get his hands on them. Hilda kicks him in the not-so-happy squeaky spot, and tells Gene to wake Jim and Melfina.
Next, everyone's in their clothes again, in the port. Mikey and Swanzo give them the okay to go, and say there's a big ruckus going on at Port 12, so they'd better get going fast.
They launch, and are followed by a small group of ships. Hilda says they can't use any missiles until they get out of the asteroid field surrounding Blue Heaven, so Jim (who's operating the weapons) only fires lasers, to no avail. Jim informs Hilda of this, and she just tells him to keep firing- it'll keep them on their toes.
Horus' scanners pick up a cruiser-class ship ahead that claims to have the right of way. It turns out it's a Ctarl-Ctarl ship, and they refuse to move out of the way until Hilda uses her persuasion tecniques when she goes right ahead and practically forces the Honehone to move. After Hilda passes, Aisha Clan Clan (the apparent leader of the ship) stops our heroes' persuers and fires a few poorly aimed shots at Horus. Hilda sends Horus into Ether Drive.
Later, the ship comes out of Ether Drive and Hilda tells everyone to get some rest- there's 2 1/2 hours until the next jump. Gene asks Hilda about the Galactic Leyline and the MacDougals; she tells him that the Galactic Leyline is a HUGE legendary treasure, and tells Horus to tell Gene about the MacDougals. Horus explains that the MacDougals claim to be outlaws, and will take any job for the right price- that's about all anyone knows. Gene then suggests that he and Hilda "talk things over in bed", just as Melfina and Jim enter. Hilda asks if he can "rise to the occasion, and Gene stands up, claps his hand over his mouth, and sits back down. Jim then says, "Grown-ups and their sleazy conversations...", and Melfina gives Gene a look of pity. She then goes on to say "You can't perform?". Everyone just stares at her. She says, "Oh, you can't perform? That's too bad.", and Hilda starts laughing.
Next, you can tell it's a while later, and Hilda hails Marx and O'Malley. There's no response... Melfina (at her post at the radar) says that she isn't picking up any signs of other ships. Horus picks up images of space junk, and Hilda sees a shred of hull and recognizes it as the Leprechaun's nose art. Horus identifies the rubble as the ships the Leprechaun and the Purgatory. Hilda says, "You just had to go and kill more of my friends...", and Horus then picks up the presence of a pirate ship, the same one Hilda was pursued by in the beginning of the first episode. They jump back into Ether Drive with a clean escape.
Next, we find our heroes sweltering as they approach Farfallas, a star around which the asteroid containing the ship Hilda swiped is orbiting, which marks the end of the third episode.
