| 16s Steve Maskrey Cup Seton BC 4 v 3 Danderhall BC (after extra time) An explosive match between the two sides which saw the referee unfortunately prominent throughout the match. Both sides looking for the win, Seton went ahead in the 4th minute with some great footwork and some clever finishing following up in the 6th minute with a second. Two up at half time the Seton lads knew they were in a game, as a couple of injuries had to be attended to at the break. Danderhall showed some grit and clawed their way back to 2-2 with 15 mins of normal time left, again Seton took the initiative and slammed home a third before 7 mins later Danderhall equalised once again. Honours even and tempers flared the first period of extra time produced something magical from Steven Laughlan with a superb chip over the opposing keeper to take Seton once again back in front. The back line tightened up and the home side keeping their nerve played well to keep Danderhall at bay throughout the second period of extra time and finally taking the honours. Steven Laughlan's dads celebrations are worth a mention when the clinching goal was scored jumping up and down like a Martin O'Neill clone and running up and down the sideline. Superb I think he enjoyed it, So did the Seton 16s. Next Fixture away to Easthouses in the Eastern Region Cup 2pm Kick off Sunday. |
