| Seth B. Draper 8/30/04 Let the Circle be Unbroken Mildred D. Taylor Bantam 1984 339 Pages A: 1. The main idea in this book was to give light to a black persons perspective during the depression era. It is interesting to note that this psyche held by these people isnt what one might expect. It shows an aspect of their minds that not all were subject to the same things and many had different views. One thing in common though was that among the adults the racism was just as high as in white folks. It did not reveal itself in oppression or hatred, but rather it manifested itself in distrust, fear and segregation. These feelings and more, though, are all justified by the tribulation they have had to go through. |
