What is BRO? The BMX Riders Organization is a groop of riders dedicated to getting the sport of BMX taken seriously. Their main goal is to get more areas designated for BMX such as: public skateparks, public Bikeparks, designated dirt jumping areas, ect. BRO started when a group of San Francisco area riders helped support, design, and build the Cityview skatepark in Alameda, CA, and were then told that bikes would not be allowed. This group of riders decided to do something about it and created the BMX Riders Organization. Bikes are still not allowed in the Cityview skatepark, but since the creation of BRO there have been many accomplishments. The Van's skatepark in Millipitas opened its doors to bikes, and the Van's skatepark in Orange now has a bike session 6 days a week, instead of 2. The cities of: Monrovia, Riverside, Louisvile, Oregon City, Cottonwood Hieghts, Santa Clarita, and Greenfield have all decided to allow bikes. BRO has been mentioned numerous times in Ride BMX magazine. And after talking to BRO, KEXSOS, an organization dedicated to keeping bikes out of skateparks, decided to work with BRO to get more skateparks open to bikes. The BMX Riders Organization may have accomplished a lot, but the fight is not over until bikers are allowed to express themselves wherever they go.
