Airwalk/Gravity Games Amature Chalenge
Palace Park Skatepark: Irvine, CA.
On July 28-29, 2001,  Airwalk and the Gravity Games put on a great amature contest.  The prelims were held on the 28th and the finals on the 29th.  There were  Beginer and an Open classes, with the top 5 getting a prize pack including free Airwalk shoes.  The winner of the Open class got a free trip to the 2001 Gravity Games and a chance to compete in the amature chalenge there.  There were many great riders coming from as far as Big Bear, CA.  A lot of good riding went down, with backflips, tailwhips, and many other great lines.  No one complained about the judging, and over all it was a pretty good contest.
Session BMX riders Seth Densham, Jesse Grimes, and Nic Handy entered the Beginner class.  Seth and Jesse went on to the finals with Seth taking 6th place and Jesse taking 8th.
A nice bonus to the contest was the airwalk team demo.  Van Homan, Brian Wizmerski, Brian Foster, Ryan Brennan, and other team riders showed up for the demo.  Most were blasting the hip out of the mini, while Foster threw out a huge flip to sprocket to fakie. Clik the link below for pictures.
