A little later on the jewel was stolen by a crow like creature. When Kagome shot it with her arrow to prevent its escape, she accidentally shattered the Shikon no Tama within the bird. Thus beginning her and Inuyasha's quest to recover all the pieces so that the jewel may be made whole once again. And to prevent its powers from falling into the wrong hands.
Kagome has grown to love Inuyasha more and more as time has gone on. Though they argue often, she has stayed by his side, and has promised him that she will never leave it. Though from time to time she does return to her era through the well to get bandages or to get away after an argument with Inuyasha.
