Kikyou and Inuyasha were falling in love then Inuyasha (Nuraku) hit Kikyou in the side hurting her badly. After Inuyasha thought kikyou tried to kill him he stole the jewel and then got shot by Kikyou into a tree. Kikyou cremated herself with the jewel.
Kagome was inside her house when she came to help souta get the cat out of the well. She dropped inside but was pulled inside and came out in another Era. She looked around and saw a young boy (inuyasha) and then went and massaged his ears. She then went to a village while she was being attack by the centipede she ran into the sealed boy and unsealed him so he can help her. After Inuyasha killed the Centipede demon he threaten to kill Kagome if she didn't give him the Jewel.
