Characters...

#42 a.k.a. Sondra
gender: male
description: very thin, pale skin, ridiculously long silver-grey hair, very pretty, number tattooed on right shoulder-blade.
Quirks: has a Jam obsession, is in love somewhat with #23, thinks Yoda rocks the known universe, is forced to wear a shower cap when he showers as hair is ridiculously hard to dry, hates tuna, is terrified of seaweed in his hair [no one knows why], is insane.

#42 is the main character. He is extremely intelligent, and very quick and agile. He is also very beautiful, with very long, very thick hair. Through the course of the story it is revealed that he suffers with a multiple-personality disorder.

Gregory
#42 suffers with a multiple personality disorder. Gregory is his other personality. Gregory is quite mean, uncivil, decidedly straight, calculative, dull-witted but fully aware of his athletic prowess, obsessed with #13, and hates #42 and #23. At one stage during the course of the story, someone forcably cuts #42's hair without him being able to see this change, and when he next looked in a mirror he didn't recognise himself and his mind fractured again in the instant. Something of an identity crisis.

#23 a.k.a. Oscar Wilde
gender: male
description: very thin, pale skin, short blue frizzy? spikey? hair, sarcastic kind of face, number tattooed on hip.
Quirks: Despises puppets [especially yoda], usually dry sarcastic and often witty in humour, though occasionally will come up with really stupid arguments when is out of ideas, is in love somewhat with #42. also cannot sing for the life of him.

#23 is #42's partner and best friend, and has been so ever since they were only a few months old. He is usually the one to converse or openly wish for appointments with the doctors etc. at the institution, and usually takes care of legal matters when they eventually escape.

#13
gender: female
description: white skin, white hair [usually dyed black with a strip of white remaining unintentionally], white irises and cat pupils, black lipstick, leather lace-up top, fishnet arm thingy, choker with buckle around neck, tartan miniskirt, black knee-high boots, number tattooed on collar-bone.
Quirks: Warped mental problems [doctors suspected neurological trauma], gothic, can't dye hair properly because her hair does not absorb the dye and it washes out almost immediately and she is usually left with one permanant white streak in her hair that repells the dye completely, detests the guys [ie. #42 and #23], seems to have a sort of crush on #31

#13 has some estranged mental troubles, but is not considered legally insane. At one point she had a crush on #31, but gave up on him and ended up with Sparrow, to her suprise. She respects #42 a lot, even though he may drive her crazy.

#57 a.k.a. Sparrow
gender: male
description: curly brown hair, fair skin, very slight frame, brown feathered wings protruding from back, large black eyes, number tattooed on back of neck.
Quirks: has wings. is the youngest of the group. has "bird" bones ie. he has hollow? bones, making him exceedingly lighter than the rest of the group, and allowing him some capacity of flight. Easily startled and scared, and often 'weirded-out'. He likes the guys [ie. #23 and #42] but thinks they are crazy.

Sparrow for a time was secretly in awe of #13 [who is a few years older than him] when he was younger, and then in love with her when he grew up. He is stronger then he looks, and his mind is more cunning and calculative, but not too much more. Raven frightens him and makes him angry.

#31 a.k.a. Bob
gender: male
description: blue-white skin, short hothouse green hair, webbed fingers and toes, green fins on arms and legs, different shaped ear to everyone else, usually smiling, quite handsome to look at, number tattooed on foot.
Quirks: seemingly always happy, very innocent and trusting

Raven
Gender: female
Description: short black slightly wavy hair, fair skin, slight frame, black feathered wings protruding from back, large dark eyes, no number tattoo.
Quirks: has wings. can't fly. very calculative.

Raven's biological mother escaped the institution before her gestation period had run to term and henseforth Raven was not given a number and Sparrow was raised with the idea that he was the only one of his kind. Raven finds Sparrow interesting, and is constantly trying to do evil things to him. She is quite deranged of mind, and slightly evil though her upbringing was slightly more normal than the rest of them. Her wings are too small to allow for actual flight.
