Tips for good sleep

 

Definition of health : health is not mere abscence of a disease, a person is said to be healthy,when he is-physically,mentally, physiologically,  socially ,financially, fit to live normally in his surroundings. good sleep is very important for physical , mental and emotional welbeing . Normal sleeping hrs are 10-12 hrs for children , 6-8hrs for adults.

Insomnia can be broadly categorised into two types:

 

  1. Primary disorder: Long-standing condition with little or no related event.

     
  2. Secondary disorder: Manifestation of a psychiatric illness, anxiety, drug use,  other medical conditions,like-cancer,arthritis,astma,heartburn ,etc.

Causes for sleeplessness--1)surroundings : a. sleeping in bright light,  b.noisy surroundings. c.uneven and uncomfortable bed & cot .

 2 )Medicines : medicines using for some diseases like --joint pains , diabetes , hypertension ,acidity , heart diseases  may disturb the sleep .

 3 ) Stress and strain : domestic problems in daily life leading to depression and anxiety may disturb good sleep.

Effects of sleeplessness : lack of comcentration in work , fatigue , loss of memary ,tiredness, irritabilty ,etc. All are due to less secretion of "melatonin" hormone from the brain cells , which is produces from brain  cells only during sound sleep, and  the person become dull, lonely , and moody in behaviour .

 

Tips to get good sleep .

Still you feel insomnia , Use the following Medicines:

Non-Addictives :

tab.Zolefresh (Zolpidem tartrate-from Brown & Burk) 1 tab. at bed time

tab.Sleepwell (Ayurvedic Preparation-from-xxx) 1 tab. at bed time

Addictives :

tab.Calmpose 5mg. (Dizepam-from Ranbaxy) 1 tab. at bed time

tab.Stressnil (Alprozolam + Melatonin-from Torrent) 1 tab. at bed time

Tab. bioclock(Alprozolam + Melatonin-from Valent health care) 1 tab at bed time

Sleeping pill is not a good option  as .............sleeplessness is a manifestation of an underlying disorder. pills are required to alleviate disorders that cause insomnia to correct chemival imbalances in the brain ."The two kinds of  available slee;ping pills are - addictive and non addictive . Calmpose and a;prazolam are commonly available addictive drugs that are harmful and do not cure the disease, "says Dr.Dwivedi .The non-addictive benzodiazepine medications are good for acute or cronic insomnia. .
