(Mr) Aart came to the series arround 1984. Mr Aart was the really cranky neighbour who always had something bad to say to the ones who played there. Dont do this, dont do that! After a few years he became milder. Hes the victim off jokes and never understand them. Aart Staartjes (at the left) is one of the actors who plays multiple childeren shows in Holland. All are for public television broadcasting and with a steady team. He also has a big input on those shows.

Hakim Traidia (born in Algeria) came living in the street the same time as Gerda Havertong in 1985. Hakim was at first just a mime, because he spoke only French. Always did his acts on live streets with letters, or in the studio with only with background and few materials... Later on he came in the street with the muppets and spoke Dutch. Besides Sesamstraat, Hakim plays mine and performs in Nijmegen with his program: Circus Coulorful City. Also he had a show on television named Circuskiekeboe. This was specialy made for Childeren to mix ethnic traditions and songs (Arabic, Berber, Moroc and Arabic) He also acts in theater.

Gerda Havertong (the woman at the left) is the nice Surinam lady who came in the street because the makers thought that the street must be multicultural. At first she only was nice and (like Sien) poored in some tea and listens to the people problems. Later she wanted a personality with depth. Now she plays also her own aunt Peetje. She felt; that her color was the reason for a part in the show. Tante Peetje is a naughty aunt who is dressed in formal Surinam clothing
