SU 38 - Super Troop - Rules and Requirements

home | contact us - The Girl Scout purpose is to inspire girls with the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism, and service so that they may become happy and resourceful citizens.

Rules:

  • An asterisk (*) below suggests a minimum of 1 activity each quarter: Sept-Dec, Jan-Mar, Apr-June
  • No "double dipping" – An activity can be used to satisfy only 1 requirement; i.e. Camporee cannot count as both an outdoor activity and a Service Unit event.

Trained Leaders At least 2 Leaders must have completed Troop Leadership Training (may have been trained in previous years)
CPR/First Aid At lease 1 troop adult must be currently certified in First Aid and CPR
Camping Certification At least 1 troop adult needs to be camping certified in

Basic In-town Overnight (BIO) minimum requirement for Brownie

Basic Troop Camping required for Junior/Cadette/Senior

This requirement does not apply to Daisy Troops.

Finances Submit troop finances report to the Leader Support Manager mid-year and by May Service Unit Meeting (or when requested)
Product Sales Troop participation in Fall Product and Cookie Sales

This requirement does not apply to Daisy Troops.

SU Leader Meetings Troop must be represented at monthly Service Unit Meetings (for the ENTIRE meeting) by a leader or troop representative (Can miss 2 meetings)
Ceremonies Conduct at least 2 per year (such as Investiture, Rededication, Fly-up, Scout’s Own, Thinking Day, Opening Flag Ceremony, etc.)
Outdoor Activity Do at least 3 during the year* (such as picnic, outdoor play, hike, camping, cookout)
Service Project Do at least 3 during the year* in addition to a Sponsor Thank you.
Sponsor Thank You Troop does something to thank their sponsor for letting the troop meet at their facility.
Program Focus Do at least 3 activities, appropriate for your troop level, from any council patch program. Service Unit 38 recommended patch for 2005/2006 is "The Light that Guides the Way".

(You are encouraged to complete the patch, but are not required to do so to be eligible for Super Troop.)
Juliette Low World Friendship Fund Troop Contribution to this fund. (Typically this is done at Thinking Day in Feb., but it can be done at any time during the year.)
Service Unit/Council Events Participation in 2 events during the year – such as Camporee, Thinking Day, or others as planned. Or attend/participate in Council-wide such as the Annual Meeting, Recognition Dinner or Council planned girl event.
Resources Use a Cadette or Senior Girl Scout to help with a troop activity. Older girls need this for achievements.
Level Interaction Carry out an activity with a troop at a different level.
