I was born to an English father and an Italian mother in London in 1974.  My parents raised me Catholic, and our household was very repressed.  This made it very difficult to get in touch with the feminine feelings I've had since I was a very young age.
When my parents were away I would dress all of the time.  I loved the feel and variety of the clothes.  Everything felt right when I would wear them, and I loved creating outfits for myself.  My mother was very close to my size, so that helped.  I think that is what initially got me interested in fashion.
After I left school I went to work at a fashion house in paris.  The job was very menial and the pay was bad, but the experience was great!  It was around this time that I began living as a woman.  I felt like I was finally being true to myself by doing so.  It was very easy for me in paris because most of the people I worked with were pretty and androgynous, and putting on a dress and make up around them was nothing unusual.
Everything changed when I moved back to London.  I came out to my parents as Gina and I told them I was bisexual.  They did not take it well at all.  My mum started crying about losing her only son and my dad wanted to beat me into the ground.  I left and moved in with some friends, and a few months later I began attending the London College of Fashion.  My dream is to work in movies someday as a costume designer.
This past January I met a TG girl on holiday here called Jenna.  We talked about our experiences and thought it would be a good idea to create an e-zine devoted to young girls like us called Changez Le Monde (Change the World).  You can read it here.
Sometimes I miss my parents very much, and really I hope someday they will learn to accept me.
