My company offers general conference, meeting and event planning services, and specializes in health, medical, scientific and government meetings. Meeting planning services are offered locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. ConferSense Planners Inc. benefits clients by planning thier events based on the objectives of their meetings and the budget available for them, by taking advantage of our extensive long term relationships with our preferred suppliers, by minimizing clients' staff hours spent on organizing meetings, and by offering them the service quality of certified meeting professionals.

Previous to this I worked for the Division of Immunization, Health Canada. I organized the Canadian National Immunization Conference, which draws approximately 600 delegates, and a variety of smaller national consensus conferences (50 to 100 delegates). These conferences all dealt with childhood immunization and vaccine-preventable diseases. I also administered a variety of national working groups and advisory committees to government (eg., the Working Group on Polio Eradication (WGPE), the Working Group on Measles Elimination in Canada (WGMEC) and the Advisory Committee on Causality Assesment of Adverse Events (ACCA). For both the conferences and the committees, I handled all aspects of the meeting from start to finish.

My Professional Association - Meeting Professionals International

MPI is the pivotal force in positioning meetings as a primary communication vehicle and a critical component of an organization's success. MPI leads the meeting industry by serving the diverse needs of meeting stakeholders worldwide, educating, and preparing members for their changing roles and competencies, and demonstrating a commitment to excellence in meetings. Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Designation

I received my CMP designation in January, 1996. The CMP designation, certification mark of the Convention Liaison Council (CLC), is recognized as the mark of excellence in the meetings industry. It is a certification program to recognize Meeting Professionals - both planner and suppliers. The Convention Liaison Council (CLC) is composed of 25 organizations representing the convention, meeting, trade show and exposition industry and travel and tourism generally. The CLC encourages and recognizes professionalism in the industry by sponsoring the Certified Meeting Professional Program. This program is based upon professional experience and academic examination. An individual must have current responsibility and accountability for successful completion of meetings, and have at least three years of experience in meeting management to apply for the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) examination. The examination process includes questions on 27 functions a meeting professional must perform under any 22 conditions. Click here to visit the website of the Convention Liaison Council
