We'wha

Some two-spirits were prominent and influential members of their tribes. We'wha, a Zuni lhamana, traveled to Washington, D.C. in 1886 and spent six months meeting society ladies and national leaders, including the president—all of whom believed that the six-foot tall Zuni "princess" was really a woman.
