There are
people needing 14
transporters
WebTVers use Transloaders to place a copy of a sound,
text or image file from a web site onto their own web
site. From there, they can link to or alter these
files. However, copying from, or linking to a site
"without" permission is theft.
Here are my Transloader links:

Domania, Mimes, & PSWS
http://mimes.com/cgi-bin2/freeload.pl ,
http://domania.net/cgi-bin2/freeload.pl are
related. I'm not sure if that means if one is down,
all 3 are down. Since they are new, we don't have a
lot of information on them.
So far they seem to work okay. Questions about
security have risen, but no security problem has been
noted. It's probably always best to just change your
password after using "any" transloader.
Wbs.net ( aka Go.com )
http://Wbs.net
( aka Go.com ) has a web mover
utility. Whereas Star Blvd allows you
to transload internet files to any web site, the Wbs
one only allows you to move the files into your Wbs
account.
It may be worth your while to transfer your whole
site over to Wbs and use their transloader.
Or you can just use Wbs as emergency storage. For
example, when you have created temporary banners at a
site. Then you head over to Star Blvd and it is down.
If you don't get into Star Blvd the work on your
graphic or banner could be lost. This is where Wbs
can come in handy. You can use their transloader and
store it until you can get into Star Blvd. You can
also just link to your Wbs account.
The Wbs "Web Mover" is very easy to use. To sign up
go to:
http://Wbs.net
They will mail you a password.
To use the Web Mover:
Go to: http://Wbs.net
Click on: Homepage Center
Click on the words: "members enter here" (written
above the oval "join" button)
Sign in your member name and password
(it's on the left)
On the next page, go down to near the bottom right
and click on "Web Mover"
Fill in the file address you want
Then click on: "move it!"
That's all there is to using it. You don't rename or
fill in anything else or zap.
Geocities, Tripod, & Wbs Movers
http://www.geocities.
com
http://www.tripod.com
http://Wbs.net aka http://Go.com
All have Mover Utilities. They allow you to move your
entire web site over to them. Geocities and Tripod's
mover utilities cannot be used to transload files
from other peoples sites to yours, but Wbs can be.
The Tripod Mover Utility will copy your existing site
from Angelfire, Geocities, The Globe or Xoom. After
you join Tripod, you can use the Mover Utility
located at:
http://homepager.tripod.com/tools/mover/frameless/ste
pone.html
The Geocities Mover utilty is located at:
/cgi-bin2/shtml/members/tools/
transfer.html

Animation Library
http://www.Animationlibrary.com
will transload any of their 3500
free animations to your web site. If you hit the
internet searching for a graphic, you might as well
start there.
* Note: As of 5/99 A.L. is days away from premiering
a new transloader capable of transloading all
internet files.
Go to:
http://www.Animationlibrary.com
You will see a big black rectangular box.
Select a category (example: books)
Select an animation (example: greenbook)
Select a background (12 popular colors)
Go down and click where it says:
"To download in WebTV"
Fill in FTP server (example: ftp.metrocities.net)
Fill in username (example: bethsplace)
Fill in password (example: ********)
You can leave serverport and remote directory
blank.
Then click on "Transport." All done!
Gif Works
http://www.GifWorks.com
is fast but can only be used for Gifs.
Okay, first go to:
http://www.gifworks.com
On top you will see grey boxes
Click on the FILE pull down menu
Select: Open GIF
You will then be prompted to type in the URL of the
gif
Then click on: Upload Image
Now you can either play with your image (emboss,
effects, color, etc)
Or transload it
Click on: FILE (top left grey pulldown)
Select: Transload FTP
All you need to fill in is:
ftp.metrocities.net (or whatever)
Username (example: bethsplace)
Password (example: **********)
and then click on: Transload
It is super fast and you don't have to zap!
Star Blvd Instructions..."NOTE:There is now a file limit size
of 30K."....
Here are my
http://transload.starblvd.net/ Instructions
First go to:
http://transload.starblvd.net/
Scroll down a little.
You will see a bunch of input boxes.
The first one is filled in for you. They tell you the
URL (address) of the last place you were at. Clever,
but not necessary.
Last Visited URL:(A) news:webtv.users.
The next box is:
Source URL:(R)
That is where you type in the address of a file you
want to transload. For example:
Source
URL:(R)http://www.erols.com/fmoran/stokes/tarheel.gif
Now that it will soon be on your web site, what do
you want to call it? Put the new name in the box:
Rename to:(O) bluefootprint.gif
Sidenote: If the file you are transloading ended with
".gif" rename your new file ending with .gif
Next you fill out the FTP server. You can click on
the question mark for help, but the two FTP servers I
know are:
ftp.metrocities.net
ftp.tripod.com
So if you are at geocities, you would write:
Target FTP Server:(R) ftp.metrocities.net
Now you would write in your geocities account name
(or tripod name, etc.)
Target Account Name:(R) bethsplace
Next you fill in your geocities (or tripod, etc)
password:
Target Account Password:(R) *******
Almost done! Notice the R's up above? That is
"Required" info. All the rest of the boxes have O's
for "Optional." We can ignore them today.
Ignore:
Upload Directory:(O)
Transload in ASCII Mode:For plain text files such as
HTML.(O)
Direct to Editor:Lets you edit HTML files
on-line.(O)
Direct to ImageTool:Gives image infos and type
conversions.(O)
Expand Characters:Uses GIFs as
your character fonts.(O)
Clip Guestbook Entry:
Now all you need to do is push the "TRANSLOAD"
button.
Then they ask you to hang out, follow the progress
and when you get the "all okay" message, they kindly
request you to hit the "ZAP" button to appease the
Karma Gods.
To recap, all you need to fillout is:
Source URL:(R)
http://www.erols.com/fmoran/stokes/tarheel.gif
Rename To:(O) bluefootprint.gif
Target FTP Server:(R) ftp.metrocities.net
Target Account Name:(R) bethsplace
Target Account Password:(R) *******
And then push "Transload" button
Free Photo storage at Photopoint
I put
http://www.PhotoPoint.com in my links because it
will transload photos from e-mails we forward to
them.
This can be photos we receive via e-mail or ones that
Plus users create. We are allowed to link to our
photos at Photopoint in our e-mails or web pages or
Ebay accounts.
Camloaders
Camloaders:
Camloaders transload the photos Plus Users take with
their optional video/digital cameras. Attaching them
to our WebTV e-mail will not generate a URL (address)
that we need to to be able to transload them. If we
generate the picture at StarBlvd's CL:
http://transload.starblvd.net/camload.shtml
We would be able to generate an URL (address) and
immediately transload it.
Wbs has a camloader visible to Plus browsers. They
will allow you to generate a photo in your file
manager and upload it to your Wbs homepage only.
http://www.hugkiss.com
is similar to your Plus e-mail
in that it will allow you to generate a video/digital
camera photo in your mailbox, but they will give this
attachment a URL (address).
You can always e-mail your Plus generated audio or
video to an e-mail account at http://www.USA.net..or use this,
they're one and the same: http://www.netaddress.com
Once in your USA inbox, you can click on the file that came in as
an attachment. Click on goto and then "show last" to get the URL
(address) of the attachment and then transload it.
WebFX trick
Last, but not least, is
http://www.newbreedsoftware.com/webfx/
Once there, you can type in the URL (address) of your
gif or jpg file.
Leave the "Apply: No Effect"
and just click "apply effect" on the bottom right.
You will then see a copy of this gif.
Down the bottom they have a link to StarBlvd. Since
you would use this because you can't get into Star
Blvd,
you would use the 2nd link "mail this picture as an
attachment."
WebFX is basically transloading this gif for you
temporarily. Since he gives you permission to do
this, you are avoiding bandwidth theft while you wait
to get into StarBlvd.
