"Adult reasons" why Geri left

Once upon a time, five girls embarked on a tour of the world, with only each other's company to stop them going crazy.
These girls were to be away from their homes and families and everything known to them for months, the only familiarities being each other.
Lonely nights on the road? no-one to satisfy their sexual desires, nobody but each other.....
Who would blame anyone for turning to someone who loves them for closeness and affection?

Interviewer : So, while we're on the subject, does it annoy you that everyone
goes on about the other girls having boyfriends while poor sporty is left on
the shelf ?
Melanie Chisholm : No! It doesn't bother me at all! If I was concerned about not being
with someone then it would bother me, but I'm not, so there! Anyway, I like
people talking about me 'cause it proves people are interested! It's a bit
mysterious...you never know, I could just be the best kept secret in pop!

The best kept secret in pop? If there was any type of relationship in there, they certainly weren't too good at covering it up, constantly holding hands, playing with each other's fingers or hugging and kissing in public.

But on the other hand, there is no evidence that any of the five Spice Girls would turn to each other for this type of comfort, is there?
Imagine the consequences if relationships were embarked upon, imagine how jealousy could spark between the girls and friendship turned to disagreements and differences.

What if the hurt caused was so great that one girl felt alienated and isolated to a degree that she had to get out, had to leave...?

"Sadly, I would like to confirm that I have left the Spice Girls," Halliwell, 25, announced Sunday in a statement to her fans read by lawyer Julian Turton. "This is because of differences between us. I'm sure the group will continue to be successful and I wish them all the best. I have no immediate plans. I wish to apologize to all the fans and to thank them and everyone who's been there. Lots of love, Geri. PS: I'll be back."

So, for certain unknown reasons, Ginger Spice, aka, Geri Haliwell left the other four Spices behind her in May 1998. The British tabloids searched for reasons why Geri had to depart with such haste, blaming things like Geri's plans to go solo, or Mel B's bullying nature driving her out, but all girls kept quiet about the reason.

When Geri finally broke the seal of silence, she did not reveal anything too shockint:

Statement to Sunday Times:

" There were differences, but they were personal. There were adult reasons why I left, but our fans are children and I didn't want to shater their dreams. I didn't want the whols meadia expose"

Personal differences? ...Adult reasons why she left? ...Shattering the dreams of children? ...Media expose? and the biggest secret in pop?
One would surely be forgiven if she was to jump to the irrational conclusion that perhaps there could have been some type of relationship going on behind the scenes. Now, I stress here that this is only my oppinion, there is no way that these assumptions are facts, and I object to slandering any of the girls' names, but I can't help it, I try to prevent myslef from thinking it, but could there have been a love triangle amid the Spice Girls???

Think about it, Emma and Geri used to be very close, Geri and Melanie C had that same closeness, and then it soon became apparent between Emma and Melanie C.
Shortly after, Geri quit the band in a spontaneous sudden way, giving nothing away about why she left, with no apparent explanation other than her "adult reasons", and now she isn't amicable with any of the girls.
Then there's the growing relationship between the two remaning non-pregnant Spice Girls, suddenly going everywhere together, always having their arms around each other, mentioning the other's name in almost every interview, even accompanying each other on what the media called Melanie's "date" with Jake.

It leaves you to wonder though, we know virtually nothing about what goes on, or what could go on in these girls' lives, and even if our wildest suspicions are laughed at, they could very well be the biggest secret in pop!
