Human Collage

Webmaster's Note: A poem originally written by me in 7th Grade English. It is titled "Human Collage", and is meant to be a transformational (styled) poem, where a human transforms into an inanimate object

I reworked and revamped this piece for a Poetry (Scholarship) Contest which I entered in Spring of 2000. Unfortunately, I was not a finalist.

Human Collage

The pertinacious parisian artist
Strenuously hunches over her easel
As she critically examines
Her incomplete portrait

Removing her stylish beret
Oppressed by the scorching afternoon sun
She clutches a paintbrush
And tenaciously strokes vivid colors

Grasping the palette
Sweat pours from her pale, exhausted face
And then she collapses
Into the painting
