EROTICA was released about the same time as her film "Body of Evidence" and her book "Sex" and the only financial hit was her book. EROTICA was ripped to shreads by her critics at the time of its release because of the album concept, but in reality it was rather tame and contained some rather good songs. It was her least successful album in terms of sales but songs like "Deeper and Deeper" and the remake of "Fever" as well as "Words" prove that Madonna can always make a good Dance tune. Other standout tracks include: "Erotica," "Bye Bye Baby" and "Rain," which is one her all time best ballads.
