"What is here today
will be gone tomorrow,"
I realized as I watched
the sparrows flying south
We walked together for miles
and miles it seemed
I tried to keep up with you
but gradually fell behind
I lost a shoe
but still struggled to reach you
in my uneven, awkward gait
Remembering my task despite
my growing fear of abandoment
I diligently scattered
the seeds you had given me
Where they landed then
a wasteland now stands
I told you my secret
revealing myself to you alone
but you told me lies
so that you could hide
the truth from yourself
Oh, Mistress of Charades!
You invited me in
then barred the door
You possessed the generosity
of a vampire
drinking deeply of my love
and handing me back an empty cup
You were so afraid I would
share my secret with someone new
and no longer be in need of you
you smothered me in your cape
to keep me silent
"What is gone today will return
tomorrow," I realized
as a robin winked at me
a worm dangling from its beak
We walked together for miles
and miles it seemed
I tried to keep up with you
but gradually fell behind
and so I was lost
following you into
the Hundred Acre Woods
Tell me, what happens to Roo
once Kanga has died?
