Two large, beefy guys stood next to the photographer. His protection.

"I don't think so," said Alex Kane. He and Danny exchanged quick looks at one another. "Give me the film." Alex reached out an open palm and made his request with the most polite sounds possible.

"Fat chance, faggot," the wimpy photographer said.

"Give me your film, please." Alex repeated himself.

"No way, Jose. Your mug is going into the Clarion. If you got a mother, you better go and make peace with her. Or, do you think she'd be happy to see her son walking out of a joint like this?"

There was no need to say any more. Alex and Danny walked straight for the photographer. Alex was very proud of himself. He had given the man two chances. People were always saying he wasn't fair. Well, he had been this time. But now the time for talk had passed ...
