Here are the guys we came to Germany to see. Roland and Ronnie were living in the US when we met them several years ago. Now they are in Stuttgart!

Stuttgart has a number of beautiful buildings and this is just one of them.

We spent lot of time that weekend in the Christmas markets of three different towns. They are all done up and the food and wares for sale are awesome.

They light up the downtown area for each Christmas Market. I had the best sauted mushrooms and cinnamon and sugar crpes I have ever had!

We spent the second day in Heidelberg where Roland's mom lives. It's a very historical town and I am jealous of the frat boys there who live in Mansions overlooking the river. (not the one in this picture though!)

Impromptu ice skating rinks are set up in most European cities around Christmas. I didn't give it a try!

Little horses are just as cute when they whinny with a German accent! We didn't see any reindeer anywhere though.

We spent the night at Roland's childhood home up in the hills above Heidelberg. His mom doesn't speak English, but she's a hoot anyway ;)
