What support is out there?

There are a number of different people and organisations that are out there to specifically help gay youths with problems or questions about their sexuality. I have got a few links on my main web page to organisations on the 'net, and will be adding more shortly.

Other sources that are available include confidential phone lines, counselling, and getting in touch with a gay organisation or society in your local area. General practitioners (or your doctor for another word) are good people to start with, as they have contacts with people who can offer help and support.

Counsellors have helped me come to terms with my sexuality, and they are good people to talk to. They are non judgmental, and very understanding. I am aware of a few people that aren't ready to discuss their sexuality with a stranger, and that is where phone lines and Internet support groups come in.

As mentioned in another one of my web pages, sexual preference is not the whole person you are, it is just an attribute to your personality, you are no different to everybody else - apart from you are attracted to different people - the same as some people are attracted to older people than themselves.
