Movie, Television and Video Reviews

Until Joe Bob Briggs starts reviewing hot frogman flix, someone else has to do it. So send me your nominees for the academy awards of hot rubber sex. I'll start the list with some of my favorites. Beyond the James Bond classics, I recommend these:

MOVIES

• "Amsterdammed" is an English-language movie produced in the Netherlands. The plot is surprisingly good, revolving around several mysterious murders along the Amsterdam canals. If you like all-black drysuits and full-face masks (not to mention a pretty good chase scene through the canals), ask for it at your video store. I give it three and a half stars.
• "The Patriot" is thin on plot and the divers (at least the prominent ones) wear nylon wetsuits with accent stripes on the sleeves. If you get off on breathing gear, however, there are several good shots of General Aquadyne full-face masks. Two and a half stars...but it will get you off at least once.
• "The Dive" has the best oil-field related shots I know of; lots of Viking suits (mostly orange) and great breathing gear, including a Cressi-Sub mask and some hot KMB-9s.

TV and Cable

• "SeaTek" airs on Wednesday on Cable. Enough "tek" gear--rebreathers, lockouts with umbilicals, and heavy duty suits--to get anybody's rocks off.
• "Sea Quest," the Spielberg TV series, is pretty disappointing for gear. If I'm watching it on the wrong nights, let me know.

Non-Diver Videos (hey...you take rubber where you find it)

• "My Bloody Valentine" is an old horror favorite with some great mine safety apparatus that must be Canadian. The film is and the gear is hotter than anything MSA ever manufactured. Does anybody know where I can get one of those masks?
