Ginger's Favorite Shopping Links

Below are some of my favorite shopping links and yes I've had good experiences with all of them. I prefer to shop in stores so I can see, feel, and try-on the items, but sometimes order by Internet or phone as necessary. When shopping in person, I prefer the bargains and selection available in factory outlet stores. I also prefer to shop when the stores are less crowded.

I especially like the Dress Barn and have always found their clerks more than willing to allow me to try-on regardless of how I am presenting. However, please be selective about which stores and clerks to take into confidence. If you don't feel good about it don't! I usually take the clerks into confidence by whispering something like, "This is for me, is there anyway I can discretely try it on? The newer stores have dressing rooms to the side of the sales area and I feel more comfortable using them than the traditional dressing rooms in the rear.

Nine West factory stores and Marmi and Cathy Jean Shoes found in some malls are wonderful and the clerks in both have been especially helpful. Of course it's impossible to try on ankle strap sandals and pumps discreetly and "my evil twin" has had some interesting reactions. Probably the best was the customer who entered the store unexpectedly and observed, "You wear those heels much better than I can!" I can also recommend Reebok and Nike factory stores and many athletic shoes are unisex in appearance. For those in the Atlanta region especially, the staff and collection of stylish shoes in extended sizes at Friedman's shoes are the best, but finding the store on Mitchell Street for the first time is difficult as is always parking.

One last tip. Get a credit card with your initial and last name only. Who knows or cares if "G" is for "Ginger" or "George?" Happy shopping and maybe I'll see you at the mall!
