What is a .sig ("Signature") File ?
          =======================================

These are small 66 byte files which are comprised
of a digitally encrypted code from my ("The Starman")
PGP Secret Key file which was used to "sign" the files
   found in this ZIP distribution.

These .sig files are for people who want to verify
that their copy of this program is not being faked
   or damaged in some way.
   ------------------------------------------------------
In order to do this, you must install (or already
have) the PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) Freeware program.

Although the .sig files will work with version 5.5
that was being distributed by PGP, you might want to
upgrade to version 6.0 from Network Associates
   <http://www.nai.com/> available from MIT here:

( With this new version, you can actually include a
photo along with your Public Key! See a pic of Phil
Zimmermann, the author of PGP, or a mug shot of The
Starman; yes, I loaded one up at the PGP servers...

More importantly, there are new plugins to make
sending encrypted email much easier! The size of the
install file for version 6.0.2 was 5,664,172 bytes,
but well worth the effort I believe.)
   ------------------------------------------------------
You may obtain my Public Key from one of these
   PGP Key servers:

          Idap://certserver.pgp.com or
	  http://pgpkeys.mit.edu:11371 ...

which are very easy to access with the new version of
   PGP Freeware 6.0. (My short fingerprint: " 0xC5E0ADD0 ")
Or, you can send me email by using the form at:

and I'll send you a signed copy of my Public Key.

   The Starman. 09 SEP 1999.
