ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey (CNN) -- Atlantic City
police and several casino security forces have
launched a manhunt for two unidentified gunmen who
opened fire outside a boardwalk massage parlor
early this morning, wounding The Announcement and
one civilian.
A guest of the Trump Marina Casino hotel, The
Announcement was discovered on the pavement outside
the Atlantic City Sun Gold Massage Parlor on
Friday, at 1:39 a.m. EST. Unconscious and bleeding
from at least two gunshot wounds to the chest and
stomach, the wounded dignitary was rushed to
Ventnor Memorial Hospital. Although physicians have
thus far managed to stablize The Announcement, his
condition has been listed as grave.
The civilian wounded in the shooting, Yvonne
Abrineaux, 22, is an employee of the Sun Gold
Massage Parlor. Ms. Abrineaux, grazed in the
shoulder by a bullet, tells CNN that she was
walking The Announcement out to his car when a
black sedan with California plates sped up to the
curb. Two men then emerged from the car, carrying
what appeared to be semi-automatic pistols.
"It was dark, and I was afraid," says Ms.
Abrineaux. "My first thought was they were heading
past us, maybe to see Louie -- that would be my
boss, Mr. Garbonzo.
"But then," she continues, "one of the men yelled
out, 'Hey, Mr. Big F----ng Announcement. This is
for you!' and started shooting."
While law enforcement officials canvas the Atlantic
City boardwalk and interview local residents,
including those who phoned the incident in to 911,
it appears that detectives assigned to the
investigation already may have a break in the case.
A police department source informs CNN that as the
gunned down The Announcement slumped to the
sidewalk, he reportedly whispered to Ms. Arbineaux
a cryptic word -- "He's coming...Bobgooz" -- before
losing consciousness.
ACPD insiders believe that deciphering that
statement could perhaps establish a motive for the
seemingly random crime, and hopefully point them
toward a suspect.
Meanwhile, friends of The Announcement are as
puzzled by the incident as police officials. "Did
he have enemies? Sure. We all do. Especially in the
women age 50-62 demographic," ABC's Weekly Ratings
Press Release told CNN in a morning phone
interview. "But cold-blooded murder? Man, I don't
know about that."
Having spent two hours at a Taj Mahal craps table
with The Announcement on Thursday evening, ABC's
Weekly Ratings Press Release also said that his
esteemed associate had been hinting at an upcoming
-- and big -- Los Angeles appearance.
"Whatever he had to say," states the Weekly Ratings
Press Release, "someone must not have wanted him to
say. Know what I mean?"
